An Artist's Portfolio
I am a freelance illustrator and painter, since 1987, residing in Lebanon, PA. I earned a BFA degree in Communication Design from Kutztown University. I also participated in a studies abroad program in Cortona, Italy, where our group spent the summer touring and taking art classes. While in Rome, I met my husband, who also obtained a BFA degree in Studio Art from the Florida State University. We married in 1988, and have two sons, and a daughter.
My first published works included two drawing books through Publications International, entitled "You Can Draw Buildings" and "You Can Draw Landscapes". Both are now out of print. I then did a bulk of freelance art for Church Publishing. This work includes black and white illustrations, and watercolor cover images. Full color watercolor images were done for each page of the 2011 and the 2012 Christian Planning Calendars. I've done several projects for Our Sunday Visitor. These include a full color children's book called "The First Christmas", and full color card link books entitled "Catholic Bible Stories" and "Catholic Prayer Card Links". I illustrated a self-published book by Michelle White entitled "New Opportunities". This was a full color book that teaches children to look for new opportunities when life throws them something unexpected. It's story is based on the author's true life experience with turning a physical tragedy around.
I am a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators. I've done work for Rooftop Productions, The Good Samaritan Hospital, and various local companies and private collectors. I am available to work in book, magazine, and greeting card illustration. Please contact me with any questions or to discuss work proposals at: dorothyperez@comcast.net
